This is my very first blog! Welcome to The Sound Keeper Sound Effects Library website!
I’m an award winning sound designer who is passionate about recording. I have been developing my craft for over a decade, and now I want to share my knowledge and experience with you!!
I’ve decided to go out into the world and start making sound effects libraries. I will bring that “Hollywood” sound to the masses. I have had the pleasure to work with the best recordists in the industry. I’ve gotten to learn the expert techniques used and now I think it’s time to unleash these sounds to the world!!
So, now the question is: “What to create first?” First, I need to go out and get sounds for the game I’m currently working on. So, off to Catalina Island I go!
After that…I have TOO many ideas to record stuff!! I think my next library will be a Horror library. There isn’t a lot of great blood, guts and gore sounds out in the world. Plus, I could always use more gore sounds! Then, I want to record my friends' guns. I’ve been on a LOT of gun shots, and they are all super fun. Guns are another thing you can never have enough of. Mostly, the sound of the tails will always be different depending on wind, where you record, etc. etc. After that I have some crazy unique cars I want to record. I have been on a bunch of car recording shoots as well (which are super fun too, but come on…can’t beat guns!!!).
Funny enough, all of those aren’t my most ambitious recording shoot ideas. I definitely want to do a large “Punch” library. With most of my games, I always need more source for punches, hits, grabs, lands, etc. I can never find enough source. I also want to create a bunch of “Hollywood” style processed punches. I want to make everything from “Indiana Jones” punches to “Matrix” punches to “John Wick” punches and beyond.
There are more libraries in my 5 year goal…but I’ll keep some things a secret for now. Plus, once I say I want to make a library…I kind of have to make it, haha. Some ideas are very expensive…so I’m just going to leave those in my dream list for now.
So, those are just some libraries I have in mind. I’m also planning on putting together some tutorial videos and possibly giving away the pro tools session for people to take a look at! Take a look at my adventures to check out my first series of videos.
Thanks for visiting, I’ll be seeing you real soon!
P.S. If you are wondering about the unique images on the site, they are from my really good friend Katon Callaway. He is an incredible artist and you can view his stuff here:
